"When I paint, my mind is quiet, my heart is open, and my soul is free"

Artist Statement:

My desire to paint comes from within. Inspiration wells up inside of me until I can’t not paint. When I create, I become completely immersed in the process. I allow inspiration to guide me, and make moves based on instinct. The creative process challenges me, teaches me, and frees me by allowing me to express what can only be felt. The canvas is like a mirror, showing me the parts of myself that need healing, and places I need to grow. My intention is to translate feeling into my paintings, by creating layer upon layer, and leaving bits of what’s showing underneath. This echoes my own hidden thoughts and feelings, and the beauty that lies within us all.
