When I paint, my mind is quiet, my heart is full, and my soul is free.

My desire to paint comes from within. Inspiration wells up inside of me until I can’t not paint. When I create, I become completely immersed in the process. I allow inspiration to guide me, and make moves based on instinct. The creative process challenges me, teaches me, and frees me by allowing me to express what can only be felt. The canvas is like a mirror, showing me the parts of myself that need healing, and places I need to grow. My intention is to translate feeling into my paintings, by creating layer upon layer, and leaving bits of what’s showing underneath. This echoes my own hidden thoughts and feelings, and the beauty that lies within us all.

I’m obsessed with colors, patterns, and textures. I can be inspired almost anywhere, although I am particularly fond of textiles, rustic items, metals, peeling wallpaper, velvet, and lace. I love visiting fabric stores, antique shops, and thrift stores for inspiration. I’ve been known to audibly gasp when I find something good.

My first love is painting, but I also dabble in sewing, making bath products, and giving new life to thrifted items. My paintings are available in my shop, along with other items depending on the season. Creativity has given me so much, and it makes me so happy to share what I make with others. My blog is a celebration of the things I love, including personal reflections, rooted in with my family life. I live in San Diego, California with my love and three children, and dream of a life in the woods.
